lizard in me kitchen

It took most of yesterday and a lot of last night and too much of today, but the cooking wall, sink area, and counter-splash are all tiled and currently being sealed prior to grouting. I have enough adhesive, grout, and ceramic foyer tiles (a ceramic version of the rich-colored slate CP requested for the bathroom, which is currently far out of my price range, so ceramic knock-off will have to do) — came up with cool pattern using the 12×12 tiles plus 2″ squares in cobalt. Only problem is I can’t seem to figure out how to get it to lay straight — this is why 99% of all tile layouts are simple jack-on-jack, I bet.

Crap, I ripped the hell out of my knuckles tiling the walls and countertop, but now we have zen countertop! That will make more sense once I post pictures, which I promise to do once I can stand up long enough to focus the stupid camera. Almost 18 hours standing on bare concrete while working in the kitchen… and I just want to be flat.

Well, I want chocolate, a glass of wine, and then to be flat. And then to wake up and find it was all mysteriously grouted while I slept.
