If there was any question before, there’s not one now: Bulldozer Broadside Balto SUCKS as a guard dog. The instant sat down on the sofa, Balto was so there. I’m just waiting for my mother to visit and accuse me (however playfully) of neglecting the little red dog, seeing how he acts like he’s overjoyed at even the least bit of attention. Overjoyed, hell, the dog is pushy-pushy-pushy. Even my beagle was never this much of a loooooove-hound, and certainly never with strangers. It’s a little odd, after so many years of friendly (if somewhat reticent) hound mixes to end up with a boxer-whatever-mix that’s just All About The Love.

[Although Sachi freaked, and stayed freaked... ah, and to think she was making such progress. Guess I will have to get off my ass and call that dog trainer, because there's no way I can make it through parental visits with that kind of chaos. Sigh.]

On the other hand, anyone who takes one look at Detta and says, “she’s not that big!” totally ROCKS in my book.
