And though the plan itself hasn’t changed (in general) over the past year or so — excepting tweaks here and there — what’s different now is that the actual plants are identified. All are natives to the blacklands prairie; the white space on the plan will be filled with native grasses (or, in a few specific limited areas, with turfalo, since buffalo grass isn’t expected to hold up as well under dog-paws).

If you’re thinking this looks big, it’s not: it’s only about a third-an-acre. From inside the yard, it both looks small and doesn’t, since there’s woods to the north and open meadow+creek to the east. Talk about borrowing views…
