(This is actually from last year – I was too lazy to try to figure out how to backdate this post.)
Establishing shot
Note the distance from the back door is only about 20 feet, and from the edge of the patio all of 6 or 7. The blobs on the glass door are the tiny snails that were all over the place last Summer.
Medium shot
So you can see our visitor a bit better. Neither of the gogs, nor the mighty Thundersqueak, even noticed. Detta was too busy checking to see if the camera I was holding might be food, Sachiko was crashed in the corner with her plushie bear, and the beachball-with-paws was taking up the chair… the *whole* chair.
Close up
Digitally enhanced (color balance, contrast, and slight unsharp masking). The blob is not a tick but one of the snails on the sliding glass door. I told you they were tiny.

Love the wildlife. My latest was on the golf course, an adorable little girl red fox, trotting across the tee box we were using. We all stopped, mouths agape, as Nature trotted into a break in the poison ivy wall and disappeared. We wondered if she could retrieve all the balls we’ve sent into her poison ivied woods; and if we could train the ducks and heron to retrieve all the balls that are in their ponds and creeks on the course, we’d be very happy indeed.
Love,
Mom
